If you’re the Dallas Cowboys, you have to be thrilled with what perceived drama queen George Pickens is echoing in the media right now. This isn’t the words of a man who is greedy and ready to cause problems. These words from Pickens show the Eye of the Tiger, and that’s great news if you’re Dallas.
Clarence Hill Jr. of All City DLLS has reported that Pickens “wants to show he’s a top guy this year.” and is more than fine playing out the year without a new extension from the Cowboys after the trade.
“I’m kind of where my feet are right now, to be honest,” Pickens said Thursday of his impending free agency in 2026. “I’m not really thinking about contract talks. I’m just glad to be here at Cowboys right now, you know, trying to build a winning culture.”
Pickens, 24, notched 59 receptions for 900 yards and three scores for the Steelers last year. Time will tell if he can beat those numbers with Dallas. Having CeeDee Lamb on his side will sure help and Pickens appears excited to team up with him.
“Oh, it excites me a lot,” Pickens said of playing alongside Lamb. “In the game of football, we can work off each other. There’s no, ‘Oh, he gets the ball, I get the ball’ — we’re working off each other. That’s why I always come back to, you know, building a winning culture and that’s kind of what we’ve been talking about in Dallas.”
“I feel great. I like the mojo here,” he said. “I like the swag. I feel like they have a great thing going for sure.”
