Dennis Green is probably most known for his post game rant as the Arizona Cardinals head coach. “They are who we thought they were”. Arizona blew a 20-0 halftime lead that caused the rant below.
Green’s best moments in the NFL however were with the Minnesota Vikings. His Vikings offense was one of the most dynamic units in NFL history with offensive coordinator Brian Billick. That unit was made up of Dante Culpepper, Randy Moss, and Cris Carter who propelled the Vikings to a 15-1 season in 1998. If It weren’t for a missed Mortan Anderson field goal, Green likely would have become the first African American head coach to win a Super Bowl. Green made the postseason 8 times in 10 seasons with Vikings.
Dennis Green also served as a head coach for Northwestern and Stanford at the collegiate level and will be forever missed.
