For Some Reason, Kyle Shanahan Is Still Obsessed With Kirk Cousins

Some things people can’t let go. A crazy ex, a car, you name it. Some things people have a tough time getting rid of. It appears Kyle Shanahan has become a stage 5 clinger towards Kirk Cousins. For some unknown reason, Kyle Shanahan is still obsessed with Kirk Cousins. LET IT GO, KYLE. DON’T DO IT.

“I do not get the sense the 49ers are in on Tom Brady,” Russini said Tuesday on “Get Up.” “Do I get the sense they’re all in on Jimmy Garoppolo? Not really either. But I don’t think they’re replacing Jimmy G with Tom Brady. I think there’s another quarterback that’s gonna be on the market soon that the 49ers are gonna want to take a look at and he’s in Minnesota right now. I think we all know the history between Kyle Shanahan and Kirk Cousins. This is something that’s been going on for years. I’ve never seen somebody want a quarterback as bad has Kyle Shanahan has and it was a deal that almost happened, too. Kirk Cousins almost wound up with Kyle in San Francisco. It did not. I think they’re waiting for that deal to wrap up, maybe even a trade. We don’t know if that could actually happen, but these are things that are on the table.”

What are you doing, Kyle? You just went to the Super Bowl with Jimmy Garoppolo. Why are you still lusting over Kirk Cousins? We know the deal with Cousins struggling in prime time. Still, Cousins still has a year left on his contract in Minnesota and Garoppolo is 3 years younger. To me, it doesn’t make much sense.

Garoppolo also beat Cousins in a number of stats and Kirk had way better weapons. Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs, etc. Jimmy G still beat him in touchdowns and yards per attempt with a tie in completion percentage. Jimmy G is also 21-5 as a starter.
