It would appear that five-star Wide Receiver Jerome Myles is testing the waters again. The Corner Canyon High School product out of Draper, Utah has decommitted from Ole Miss after originally committing to the Rebels just two months ago. He will have plenty of suitors, as this decision is on the heels of an official visit to Texas A&M.
“I would like to thank Ole Miss and Coach (George) McDonald for the time and effort they put into recruiting me and for welcoming me with open arms,” he wrote on social media. “However, after much consideration, I would like to announce that I am decommitting from (Ole Miss) and will be reopening my recruitment.”
Jerome Myles currently has offers from Michigan, Texas A&M, Utah and Tennessee, among others, according to 247Sports. He first committed to Ole Miss as a four-star recruit but has since been elevated to a five-star recruit and the number five receiver in the class. At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, he brings a unique blend of size and speed to the position, as he ran 10.57 in the 100m and 21.30 in the 200m.
On the field, he uses that speed to take the top off the defense, and good awareness to track the ball while it’s in the air. Solid route tree which will get better, shifty off the line against press coverage, and sure hands especially over the middle of the field. His blocking abilities are what’s going to propel him to see the field early, no matter where he goes.
Myles is certainly a name to keep an eye on in the future, as he has the potential to become a big-time talent when he enters college.
