Odell Beckham signed with the Dolphins but does he have any fantasy football value in Miami? That’s what we’re here to talk about, hence the title, so let’s get right into it and not waste any time.
The answer is no. No need to bury the lede. This passing game runs through Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. That’s really the end of the story. Hill had 171 targets last year. Waddle had 104. How many balls are there to go around? The third receiver (even if it’s Beckham) doesn’t have much value.
Speaking of “even if it’s Beckham” are we positive this guy is still good? OBJ stole more money from the city of Baltimore last year than Omar did his entire time on The Wire. What the hell did the Ravens pay for last year? It was all a Lamar Jackson con job. 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns last year for the Ravens.
Is it supposed to get better in an offense where he’s at best the third dog while getting another year older? Keep in mind, Miami also drafted two other slot receivers. Tahj Washington and Malik Washington may force their way onto the field. The Phins also have Braxton Berrios and might actually have a reliable tight end with Jonnu Smith. This is a team that runs the ball a fair amount too and they have three backs who can all catch the ball.
Can we fantasy football managers just come to agreement on this one. It’s a name. It’s not a name that has fantasy value as we head into the 2024-25 NFL Season. Maybe seven years ago this is a different conversation. Not now.
