Eugene Hilton, Son Of T.Y. Hilton, Commits To Wisconsin

Three-star recruit in the 2025 Class Eugene Hilton announced on Friday his commitment to the University of Wisconsin. If the last name Hilton sounds familiar at the wide receiver position, it’s because it should. Hilton is the son of former NFL receiver T.Y. Hilton. Eugene Hilton was a standout in his position at Zionsville Community High School in Indiana. He held offers from Georgia, Michigan, Missouri, and Miami, among others before announcing his commitment to Wisconsin.

Hilton (6’1 195 lbs), the 53rd-ranked wide receiver and sixth-ranked prospect in the state of Indiana, is the third-highest-ranked commit for Luke Fickell during his time at Wisconsin. It has not been a terrible class for Fickell, as he currently has one four-star recruit and 18 three-star recruits. This commitment from Hilton is on the heels of Wisconsin landing Mason Posa, the number seven ILB in the entire class. The Badgers finished 7-6 in Fickell’s first year and will look to improve upon that in 2024.

Eugene Hilton has some decent-sized shoes to fill, as his dad T.Y. Hilton was a very solid pro. During his ten seasons in the NFL, T.Y. was named to the Pro Bowl four times and led the NFL in receiving yards in 2016 with 1,448. Eugene finished last season with 46 receptions for 836 yards and ten touchdowns. Wisconsin is currently in the middle of an entire culture change, as Luke Fickell represents change in terms of identity and playstyle.

Wisconsin has not been known for high-flying offenses or producing top-level talent at the wide receiver position, but Hilton might have as good a chance as anyone to explode onto the scene, given his NFL bloodlines and having his dad be able to help him develop.
