Elic Ayomanor 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Sorry in advance, but I’m going to party pooper again for the 2025 NFL Draft profile on Elic Ayomanor. With that said, do you mind if I get to the point on the Stanford receiver to keep things moving?

NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 4

Ayomanor, 21, is actually Canadian but was technically recruited out of Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts. During the 2022 cycle, Ayomanor was a three star prospect and the 122nd ranked receiver in the country. In high school, he had a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus injury that may have had something to do with that as well.

The timeline looks like this. 2022 was a total redshirt year. The final two years he was the top dog at Stanford. In 2023, he posted 62 receptions for 1,013 yards and six scores. The stat line looked pretty similar during his final collegiate campaign, notching 63 grabs for 831 yards and six scores. I admittedly didn’t make Stanford a huge priority this year, but he had some moments this year against Syracuse. If you’re a believer, his game two years ago against Travis Hunter was fantastic.

The thing about it is, I’m not a believer, and I question your intelligence if you are. Ayomanor is a contested catch guy who can’t catch. 12 drops over the last two years just can’t happen. Catching the football is kinda a prerequisite for the position. It’s not even about the egregious drops. He stinks at tracking the ball and the MFer, this ball is mine, stuff, he just doesn’t got it. The pure ball skills might be the worst in the class. I have no idea how this translates against real NFL corners when he can’t even win against BB guns in the ACC.

The Stanford product checks in at 6-foot-2, 206, with 4.44 speed. The speed was kinda surprising but good for him. I didn’t see that on the actual game speed. His does compete and block his tail off. Have to give him that. I don’t have a ton from his Combine because it felt like there was nothing to write. Looks like just a guy.

Another positive is that he went to Stanford and isn’t dumb. I don’t see bad self-awareness traits out there. I think the guy tries and doesn’t have ego WR problems. When his hands do work on the rare occasion, he can make some acrobatic catches.

I have a 6th-7th round grade on Elic Ayomanor. If you get Michael Wilson, I think you have to be pretty happy about it. Sorry, but I just think it’s important for a receiver to not absolutely suck at catching the ball. The only reason I have him this high is because of the blocking ability. It shows some unselfishness. Beyond that, this is probably one of my least favorite receivers in the class.
