We probably have seen the last of Eli Manning in the NFL. Daniel Jones is going to be the quarterback for the New York Giants and Eli is mostly washed. Pretty much has been the case for the last 5 years. Now is the time to celebrate Eli Manning for what he was. Mostly average except for two great runs. He will get into the Hall of Fame for that. This next story makes Manning a little bit more likable.
Eli Manning = Big Beer Guy:
ESPN- Eli Manning always drank beer on the team bus. It was a Broadway Joe kind of thing to do, and a fact that might run counter to an image Manning spent absolutely no time crafting. But win, lose or draw, Manning would find someone on the road to buy him a six-pack or 12-pack that he would carry to the back of the bus, on ice, and share with some veterans as they discussed the game on the ride to the airport.
Even then, Manning’s consistency stunned his New York Giants teammates. “It was unbelievable,” said Lawrence Tynes, the kicker who won two championships with the quarterback. “He had a guy in every f—ing stadium in the league to get him that beer.”
Can’t knock the guy from drinkings some brews after a tough Sunday. We’ve all seen the goofy Eli face on the sidelines. I just want to know what he looks like when he’s hammered. Can’t imagine that face. You already knew Peyton and Eli were both beer guys. It’s nice that a story like this got out. Eli became more likable today. Eli will get elected into the Hall. I hope some of these beer stories make their way into the speech somehow.
