EA Sports Announces Return of NCAA Basketball Game

They’ve done it, we have had to know that it was coming after the return of EA Sports NCAA Football game and the major success that it had. The fans have been grumbling and griping on when are we getting an NCAA basketball game. Ladies and even more gentlemen it seems that all that grumbling and griping is over. We’re officially getting an EA Sports NCAA Basketball game. This has been reported by EA Sports on Twitter/X and confirmed by On3 on Twitter/X as well:

While they haven’t officially said “Hey! NCAA Basketball is coming back! You’re welcome!” But, it’s hard to imagine EA Sports would put this out and not be confirmed to at least make a return. If they posted this as a “We want to come back, but we’re not sure if it’s possible yet.” F*ck these guys. EA Sports usually disappoints with their game content, but hopefully not the announcement. NCAA Football did fairly well, there were things that they did well and needed improvement on, but the general consensus was that it was better than Madden’s usual output.

2K Sports has been unrivaled in basketball games, with really only NBA 2K games being the source for realistic basketball games. NBA Live 19 was the last NBA Live that came out from EA Sports. Frankly, it wasn’t bad, I wouldn’t say good, and it wasn’t anywhere near 2K’s quality, despite the many gripes people have about 2K. 2K really has a monopoly on basketball games, but this could be EA Sports gets back into making quality basketball games. Using College basketball, they will find ways to improve and hopefully put pressure on 2K to make better basketball games. Competition is good for consumers. I haven’t bought 2K in years because they don’t really change the game but add a crazy amount of VC stuff and things of that nature, plus it ends up being like 150 GBs.

Cross Play Cheese For Dynasty Mode In EA Sports College Football Sounds Incredibly Fun

EA Sports can do something fantastic here for basketball gamers worldwide. They only put 2 sentences out, but the world is now itching to play a possible new NCAA basketball game. Logic would tell me that it comes out in 2026 at the earliest, but a more probable date would be 2027. One can hope that they can do this right. Don’t let us down, please.
