The 2025 NFL Draft is done, but that doesn’t mean the grind stops. We still have a few individual profiles I still want to hit, and Dylan Fairchild is one of them. Without further ado, let’s give a brief rundown on what you need to know about the Georgia guard.
Fairchild, 21, was a four star prospect coming out of high school. The Cumming, Georgia, native has a wrestling background and was rated as the 43rd overall player, second ranked interior lineman, and seventh ranked player in the state during the 2021 cycle. Checking in at 6-foot-5, 318, he spent all four years with the Dawgs.
The Combine was fine, I guess, but it wasn’t anything special. It was pretty obvious after the workout that Tate Ratledge (profile) was the far superior prospect. The leaping numbers were pretty trash, and he didn’t really do any of the other testing. There’s clearly a ceiling on his pure athletic traits, but he knows how to use his hands and win with leverage.
The timeline looks like this. Two year starter after winning the National title the two prior years as a backup. Not sure I saw someone who was overly strong. Not a slug, but not an elite pure mover. Over the last two years, he only gave up one total sack and looks pretty decent working in pass pro. He’s mostly been a left guard in college, but can probably play anywhere on the interior.
I think Dylan Fairchild got picked in the right range. Round 4-5 type of guy. Someone who has potential to turn into a capable starter, but probably won’t ever be some ninja that becomes a blue chip guy.
