Draymond Green and everyone else that is not a Mavericks fan finds it a little suspicious that the Mavericks won the draft lottery with a 1.8 chance at getting the #1 overall pick. Draymond Green shared his thoughts on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and noted that usually 25-year old superstars don’t get traded. Jimmy Kimmel pressed further on his thoughts, which TheScore provided the quotes from Draymond Green:
“Although he suspends me often and fines me often, I still consider Adam Silver a friend, so I’m not gonna do him like that,” Green said. “But it may be a little suspicious. Just a tad.”
I think when analyzing this, it’s not only that the Mavericks won with very little odds, it’s also that the Mavericks traded Luka Donicic, probably a top 5 star in the league, in such a mysterious fashion. Not only did Luka get traded to a big market team like the Lakers, who also have LeBron James, but it was the fact that it was a blindside move, no other team was aware that it was going to happen. Not any rumors, no smoke, nothing,. Then, Shams Charania had to actually confirm that the trade was real because, 1. the Mavericks simply didn’t get enough back for Luka Doncic, sorry an aging and injury prone Anthony Davis, doesn’t quite cover it, and 2. once again, it literally came out of nowhere.
A move like that is usually grounds for termination for any GM. Which is was weird that Nico Harrison wasn’t fired for. It was made to look like that he did this on his own with his own thought process, and no one else involved. Acting that way as a GM is not a good look anyway, and to make a move like that by yourself is horrendous.
Then, it was all clear and like Draymond Green said, it is suspicious. Almost like some behind-the-door dealing was taken place, Adan Gold (not Adam Silver) may have said “hey our ratings are looking down, your not satisfied with Luka’s defensive effort, let’s trade him to a big market like the Lakers, and in return you get Anthony Davis and we’ll rig the NBA lottery for you so you can get Cooper Flagg. Deal?” Cause, why would you trade Luka, why wasn’t Nico Harrison fired, how did the Mavericks win the NBA lottery? Everyone hates Nico and thinks he is an idiot who should be fired if the Mavericks don’t win the NBA lottery. Now that they did, everyone feels like the NBA is rigged (is it?)
Draymond Green is suspicious, I am suspicious, God is even suspicious of the actions of Adan Gold (not Adam Silver). What are your thoughts? Is there anyone not convinced it was rigged? Let us know in the comments.
