Drake Becomes Part Owner of 100Thieves – eSports on the Rise

Drake along with other notable names like Scooter Braun and Dan Gilbert are now co-owners of the eSports-centered brand, 100Thieves. However, they are not the only new owners, their own content creators CouRageJD and Valkyrae are also now part of the group.

Drake is Drake, an international superstar who puts out hit after hit. He is beyond just a musician or a rapper, he is a cultural icon and his following is insane. Just his name on the investment is a good thing, if he promotes it every now and then it is huge for the 100Thieves brand and just a fraction of what Drake can bring as an owner.

CouRageJD has been in the gaming scene for many years, he has cast some of the biggest moments in Fortnite and Call of Duty throughout the years. CouRageJD (Jack Dunlop) signed with the 100Thieves organization in 2019 and has had nothing but success. He got a deal with YouTube gaming to be the exclusive host of his daily streams, leaving his entire Twitch growth altogether.

CouRageJD was very vocal about his appreciation for the original founder of the organization Nadeshot (Matthew Haag). The two originally met in the Call of Duty circuit many years ago before eSports is what it is today. Haag recently bought a team in the Call of Duty League, the Los Angeles Thieves which is already a top team in the CDL.

Valkyrae (Rachel Hofstetter) is also a monster in the community and puts up numbers. She signed with 100Thieves as a content creator and to help grow both of their brands. She also made the switch from Twitch to YouTube Gaming for her daily streams.

Oh yeah there are a few other very notable names that are part of the new group of owners. Dan Gilbert, the owner of multiple sports teams including the Cleveland Cavaliers is in the mix, and having someone like that involved can help scale the company to the next level and into new markets.

Last but for sure not least is Scooter Braun, probably the second most recognized name in this crew. Braun is Justin Bieber’s agent and considered one of his right-hand men. He also has been in the public eye for his feud with Taylor Swift over her masters.
