One more cheese list to go. The Don’t Eat The Cheese series finishes up with the 2024 Fantasy Football wide receiver busts. That also means one more reminder that I kicked Matthew Berry’s ass last year. Let’s get on with it!
Calvin Ridley (Titans)
Calvin Ridley got paid but are we sure the Titans are really going to get their money’s worth? Do you trust Will Levis? How is anybody not worried about DeAndre Hopkins being the touchdown / target hog? Do you even want players on the Titans in general? He also doesn’t look like quite the same guy post gambling suspension either. I think I’m ok here without having this stock.
Stefon Diggs (Texans)
Too many mouths to feed and he’s trending in the wrong direction. That’s really all that needs to be said here. But since you’re here I’ll go more in depth. This is a team that actually uses a fullback. It’s the Shanahan offense. There’s going to be a lot of snaps where one of these receivers is simply left off the field for math purposes. Now you bring in Joe Mixon who should at least help the 30th ranked run attack from last year. Not that I’m the biggest Mixon guy but if Houston simply has a better run game and can protect a lead, somebody is being left behind. It could be Tank Dell but it just seems like CJ Stroud has real chemistry with him. Diggs is the hired gun and totally cratered in the second half of last season. The decline is real. His hands aren’t as good. The ranking here is way too rich for a third receiver in the offense.
Drake London (Falcons)
Drake London stinks but people continue to pretend otherwise. In fact, I’ll go as far as to say that you’re a complete dope if you think London is a top 10-15 WR, which is where he’s being ranked. He never separated in college, has no real speed threat, and finished last season in fantasy as WR42 during a completely healthy season. Lay off the crack. It’s Mitch Trubisky 2.0. He’s not as bad as Trubisky but he’s only being ranked this high because the Falcons were stupid enough to take him that high. Stop giving Trubisky jobs and stop treating London like he’s a legitimate WR1. It has never been the case and will continue to not be the case.
Brandon Aiyuk (49ers)
This dude is an absolute bum and still isn’t practicing. Well, he wasn’t practicing as I recorded the video version of the post. Aiyuk cried enough and got rewarded for acting like a loser. This guy is just off on his own planet living in outer space. Guys like this don’t get better when you give them every reason to not work hard. Deebo Samuel also makes this team what it is and is more valuable during those explosion weeks in best ball. The fantasy karma gods will act accordingly.
Puka Nacua (Rams)
Don’t yell at me. We’re leaders of the Puka Nacua fan club here at Vendetta. We put you onto him before any other media company and that’s just a fact. However, this is fantasy football and sometimes rankings force our hand. The Cooper Kupp factor here just can’t be ignored and taking Nacua at WR8 where he’s often being ranked just doesn’t make sense. That’s just a price tag I’m not willing to pay yet. Can we let the guy have another good season again before we just declare him one of the best guys on the planet? I don’t think that’s an unreasonable request!
