Under Maintenance
We deeply apologize for interrupting your reading but Vendetta is currently undergoing some important maintenance! You may experience some layout shifts, slow loading times and dififculties in navigating.
Sports Media
Slowly and surely Vendetta Sports Media will establish itself as the premier go to site for fantasy sports. You can laugh at that statement all you want but the evidence doesn’t lie. I own fantasy hockey (RIP Sean Allen). Matthew Berry was embarrassed. In 2024 we’re throwing our hat in the fantasy baseball realm and the Don’t Eat The Cheese series will return to cover MLB.
For now, I don’t have anything against ESPN’s fantasy baseball department. Time will tell if that changes. In the meantime, I’m just going to give you busts. Any player that’s ranked too high inside the top 50, we’re going to expose them together.
*Link to ESPN rankings. They constantly change so don’t shoot the messenger if they’re updated after publication.
There are only two catchers listed inside the top 50 so I have to stretch the rules a bit for this one. Did you know Contreras was 11th in NL MVP voting last year? Yeah… so that’s insane. He hit .289 last year with 17 homers. I’ll take a bit of a come-back-to-earth moment for this year. The same thing happened to Alejandro Kirk last year. My pick is Contreras this year. I just have a hard time believing things will click for the Brewers as they did during their division-winning season a year ago.
Honorable Mention: Cal Raleigh
Raleigh is listed as catcher 7 and I just don’t get it. He’s a career .217 hitter. You’re hoping and praying for homers in a pitcher friendly ballpark. I’m all good here. No thanks.
