Donald Trump Wants To Host UFC Fight At The White House

President Donald Trump has expressed interest in hosting a UFC championship fight at the White House. The fight would be a part of American 250 as part of the celebration of America’s 250 years of independence.

“We are going to have a UFC fight,” Trump said. “We are going to have a UFC fight, think of this, on the grounds of the White House. We have a lot of land there. We are going to build a little- we’re not, Dana (White’s) is going to do it, Dana is great, one of a kind. We are going to have a UFC fight, a championship fight, with a full fight card, featuring 20 – 25,000 people. We are going to that as part of (America) 250 also.”

Trump has been a longtime supporter of UFC and MMA. In the early days of the sport, he allowed the UFC to host events in his casinos. That was crucial for the UFC as securing venues was a much bigger challenge when the sport was in its infancy. The relationship between Trump, UFC, and UFC CEO Dana White only grew from there. Now, Trump routinely attends UFC events while White endorses his political endeavors.

Trump’s wishes to have a UFC event go down at the White House present a bevy of questions. How will government officials plan a fight at such an important location? What will be the layout of the event, and how will thousands of spectators be included? Will it be a full fight card or one massive fight? Who will have the opportunity to headline the event? How will the event be televised?

How Long Will Ilia Topuria Rule The Lightweight Division?

Thankfully, White House officials and Dana White have a full year to answer those questions and create one of the most unique events in the sport’s history.
