The Dolphins Should Trade For Patrick Surtain II

It’s time to bring him back home. The Broncos are terrible and it’s not exactly a secret that Sean Payton is planning to liquidate some assets for next year. Depending on the offer, Denver could consider trading star cornerback Patrick Surtain II. If that’s the case, the Miami Dolphins need to be aggressive in pursuing a trade.

The script writes itself here. Surtain II is the son of Patrick Surtain. Yes, the original played for the Dolphins for a long time and was one of the better cornerbacks in the history of their franchise. The old heads know all about the Surtain and Sam Madison duo.

Bringing Surtain to Miami would be a great storyline alone.

Furthermore, Miami and Denver already have a working relationship. The two parties agreed to the Bradley Chubb trade at the deadline last year. That stuff is so important and it shows that these two teams can strike deals. I don’t see any reason why Miami can’t do the same thing again this year by flipping Denver more draft assets for Surtain.

Also, this Miami defense really needs a shot in the arm. Jalen Ramsey returning will help. Still, Miami is allowing 26 points per game which is the 7th worst mark in the league. Chubb was brought in to help the pass rush last year. Now it’s time to put the finishing touches on the secondary. Add Surtain to the group with Ramsey and Jevon Holland? Now we’re talking.

October 31st is the NFL Trade Deadline this year. It’s time to make it happen. This Miami offense is so explosive. The defense just needs to be better and this team can win the Super Bowl. It’s time to be aggressive. Go bring Surtain back home.
