DeMarcus Lawrence signed a pretty lucrative free agent contract with the Seahawks in free agency. On his way out of Dallas, the former Boise State product sent some parting shots at his former team.
There was no hiding this one. Lawrence didn’t believe that he would ever win a Super Bowl with the Cowboys.
“Change of scenery is always good, but Dallas is my home,” Lawrence said in an interview with Hawks Blogger. “Made my home there, my family lives there. I’m forever gonna be there, but I know for sure I’m not going to win a Super Bowl there. So yeah, we here.”
Lawrence, 32, also got into a war of words with Micah Parsons on Twitter.
“This what rejection and envy look like!” Micah Parsons wrote on X. “This some clown (expletive)!
“Calling me a clown won’t change the fact that I told the truth,” Lawrence replied. “Maybe if you spent less time tweeting and more time winning, I wouldn’t have left.”
Is the guy wrong? Maybe the Seahawks aren’t a sexy Super Bowl contender but in fairness, they have won one more recently than the Cowboys have. Plus, they are kinda interesting with Mike Macdonald running that hybrid defense he ran with the Ravens. Maybe they can be a sneaky contender.
He’s not wrong about one thing but this specific part he didn’t bring up. The Cowboys are screwed because they are paying Dak Prescott too much money and they don’t have enough cheap talent around it. That’s the truth. As long as that’s the case, Dallas is stuck in the mushy middle.
