Dak Prescott has a shiny new toy to work with after the Cowboys went out and traded for George Pickens. Having a reliable wide receiver that goes beyond CeeDee Lamb is exactly what this Dallas offense needed heading into this year, and Dak seems excited about the move.
VIA an appearance on 96.7 The Ticket:
“You turn on the tape, you see a guy that can catch the football,” Prescott said. “You put the football anywhere in his vicinity, very strong hands. More than a 50/50 catcher. He thinks it’s his ball when it’s in the air. I’m excited for him. I know we needed some help at that position.”
I have two follow-ups on this if you’re looking for more information here.
Look, on paper, this move makes so much sense. It takes attention off Lamb, and Pickens might really get single coverage looks deep down the field. This move was probably a serious needle mover heading into this year. Let’s be real about it. If things go south in a similar way to last year… the conversation then shifts to the quarterback.
Yes, I am going to bring up the part where the Cowboys traded for Joe Milton, and you’re going to deal with it! With Brian Schottenheimer taking over this year, it’s hard to know what we’re really getting from the Cowboys heading into the 2025-26 NFL Season. If you have a strong take for the way you think this goes, drop it in the comments!
