Today, CD Project Red announced that their highly anticipated open-world RPG Cyberpunk 2077 would once again be delayed. The announcement was posted to Twitter by the official Cyberpunk account.
This is not the first time Cyberpunk has been delayed. It’s not even the second time. Cyberpunk was initially scheduled for an April 16 release date, then pushed to September 17, and moved to November 19. Now, players will have to wait until December 10 to get their hands on one of the more anticipated games of the year.
Let’s get this out here first. I know nothing about making a video game. I understand that it can be difficult, especially if it is as ambitious as Cyberpunk 2077 is. The world looks massive. I could not imagine the number of hours a large group of people has had to make this game a reality. It’s honestly astounding. Just watch some of these gameplay trailers. It’s going to be a beautiful game.
I’ll keep it real with everyone. I am upset. Like most everyone else in the world, I have been waiting eight years for Cyberpunk 2077 to release. I honestly cannot wait to dive into this world. While I understand and appreciate CD Project Red for taking their time with the game, it feels like the game may never release.
CD Project Red makes some of the greatest games out there. The entire Witcher series is fantastic, and the Wither 3 is a must-play for any gaming fan, which is why everyone is hyped for this game. With the extra time before Cyberpunk’s release, go out a buy a copy of the Witcher 3 if you haven’t yet. You will not be disappointed. That is a promise.
No game is ever perfect or without flaw, and the end product for Cyberpunk will probably follow that truth. Thankfully, with the help of modern technology, games can be patched after their release date. The developers are going above and beyond with this game, but we just want to play at the same time. The millions that are already in love with this game will forgive you. Please, let us play.
