Cristiano Ronaldo Officially Headed Back to Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo is officially heading back to Old Trafford and Manchester United, as first reported by football insider Fabrizio Romano.

After a 48 hour window that included rumors of transfers to Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, the 36-year-old superstar is returning to Old Trafford. In an official statement regarding the return of Ronaldo to England, the Red Devils said this:

“Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical.”

“Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Cristiano back to Manchester.”

Earlier this morning, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer had this to say regarding the then rumors surrounding a Ronaldo-United reunion.

“Cristiano Ronaldo? We’ve always had a good communication. Bruno has been talking to him as well and he knows what we feel about him. If he was ever going to move away from Juventus, he knows we are here.”

VIA Fabrizio Romano

“Cristiano is a legend of this club, the the greatest player of all time if you ask me. I was fortunate enough to play with him. I coached him when I got my job. Let’s see what happens.”

Ronaldo spent six years with the club before joining Real Madrid in 2009. The Portuguese star scored 118 goals in 292 matches. This reunion is one of several moves that may give the 2021 summer transfer window legendary status. With Ronaldo back in red, he will look to continue his winning ways alongside the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw and more. This Manchester United team just got a whole lot better. Buckle in for a hectic Premier League top four race.
