Could Tacario Davis Be Heading To Washington?

Many believed that the Arizona Wildcats were heading for success in 2024, on the heels of a 10-3 season with arguably the best wide receiver in the country in Tetairoa McMillian and a standout cornerback in Tacario Davis. However, Arizona would flop in 2024, going 4-8, failing to meet expectations across the board. Davis had spent three seasons at Arizona but decided to enter the portal for his final collegiate season, and we are getting clues as to where he will be heading for the 2025 season.

Matt Zenitz of 247sports.com reports that the Washington Huskies are the leader in the clubhouse to land Tacario Davis in the transfer portal. The two-time all-conference cornerback has taken visits to Texas, Miami, Ole Miss, and Michigan, per Athlonsports.com, but his most recent visit could be his last: Washington. The Huskies might not provide Davis with the biggest platform to establish himself as one of the top cornerbacks for the 2026 NFL Draft as he could at a bigger program like Texas or Michigan, but Davis fills a massive need for Washington. The 6’4 defender totaled 76 total tackles and one interception in his three seasons for Arizona.

Any program would be lucky to land Tacario Davis. I had Davis as a top-50 prospect entering the 2024 season, and I believe he boasts a similar projection for the 2025 season. Many believed that Davis would declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, and would be among the top cornerbacks in that class, but now he sets his eyes to next season and where he will play next, and his efforts to establish himself among the top of the class.
