The Colts Are Treating Anthony Richardson Like A Minor League Baseball Player

Is anybody watching the games? If you have heart problems you may have already died watching Anthony Richardson.

I’m sorry for your loss if you’re someone who lost a loved one because Richardson gave he or she (and for sure not it or any of the sick worthless f*cks who take dumps in litter boxes) a heart attack. You Colts fans deserve better.

The owner is a drunk moron. Chris Ballard doesn’t have a clue. Never has. Don’t be a fanboy about it. Even he’s admitted he failed at his job. Blake Bortles has won the AFC South more recently than Ballard has… which is never. Until that changes, don’t talk to me.

I like Shane Steichen. He’s trash at managing the game (which was a brief ricochet shot in the Frank Reich video) but at least has shown potential as a play caller. I’m not denying that. That is as long as he’s willing to admit as the head coach of the football team, he’s not putting his team in the best position to win football games. Stop worrying about swapping wives with Gus Bradley in the offseason and maybe worry about making the team better… but we don’t need to go there.

Regardless of who’s responsible for this debacle in Indianapolis knows the truth. Joe Flacco gives this team the best chance to win and they’re choosing to disrespect the integrity of the game instead.

I ask myself that question every single week. Bears fans brag like they have it all figured out. Like they cracked the code on being good at football. 90% of this league isn’t well run. You’re only really competing against a handful of teams. If any owner was actually serious about winning they would have called me already.

Bet let’s get to what we’re really talking about here:

The Colts are treating Anthony Richardson like a minor league baseball player. That’s all this really is. Richardson, 22, is completing 44.4% of his passes in 2024 in six starts. It’s all time bad stuff. Maybe one day the former Florida product will figure it out but that day is not today. He’s unplayable bad. You can’t trust him to complete a high school pass right now, which in fairness was the case in Florida but nobody wanted to talk about that. They just wanted to guarantee he was going to the Hall of Fame without seeing any actual evidence that he was a good football player.

That’s the real problem here. He’s a minor league baseball pitcher with great stuff and a trash ERA. In minor league baseball, you can keep trotting the guy out there even when it’s going bad because wins and losses really isn’t the end game. It’s a developmental league and there is absolutely nothing wrong with figuring out what you have. Except the NFL isn’t a developmental league. Many joke about calling it the “not for long” league because you lose your job if expectations aren’t met.

Joe Flacco gives the Colts the best chance to win and it’s not arguable. This AFC South is winnable and instead, the Colts have decided ego of a draft pick number matters more than winning football games. Rumor on the street is rival teams are even sending them edible arrangements for doing them a bone-headed favor.

What’s the argument here? Tell me I’m wrong. How else would you describe what’s going on here? You can’t defend this. I dare you to.

Side note: I’m fully aware the Browns were also doing the same thing. I just had higher expectations for the Colts. The Browns will always suck until they change their logo. I’m convinced of that. Instead, I chose to be smart about it and draft Jameis Winston for $1 as my last pick. Who’s really the bad guy? We all know the karma gods had to step in because the Browns were taking too long to bench Deshaun Watson.
