Colbie Young Transfers To Georgia
The Dawgs are really starting to stockpile receivers. RaRa Thomas and Dominic Lovett joined the program via the portal. This year Georgia will snag two more. They already took London Humphreys from Vandy. This time it’s Colbie Young who will join Georgia after transferring out of Miami.
Young made his announcement via Instagram.
“Thank you Miami coaches and teammates for everything,” Young wrote on his Instagram account. “Y’all made the experience amazing and I’m extremely grateful. Thank you to my agent, family, friends, etc. for supporting me through this decision. With that being said I have decided to transfer and am committing to [the] University of Georgia.”
Young, a junior from Binghamton, New York, is super underrated. I mentioned Young a few times during the stock report series this year. He was a standout on a rebuilding Miami team. This past year, Young notched 47 receptions for 563 yards and 5 touchdowns. That was with shaky quarterback play that became a rotating door of Tyler Van Dyke and Emory Williams.
The former Miami receiver will have one season of eligibility remaining. Still, it’s another toy for Carson Beck and this offense. It will be interesting to see what Young can do in the SEC while playing for this offense. Young checks in at 6-foot-5, 215, and can run.
All that remains now is to find out what happens with some of the other Georgia receivers. Will Ladd McConkey, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Arian Smith, Lovett, and Thomas declare for the NFL Draft? Who comes back will become a factor in how much we see Young involved.
