Christian Wood has signed with the Rockets.
This has been reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Christian Wood exploded onto the scene last year with the Detroit Pistons with 13.1 PPG on 56.7% shooting, 6.3 RPG, and 1 APG for the 2020 NBA season. However, in the 2nd half of the season he played much more minutes and his numbers really put him on the map. In the last 22 games of the season he averaged 19.7 PPG, and 8 RPG. This has really vamped up the Free Agent market for him.
Ultimately, Christian Wood was signed by the Rockets. They will be getting a young big that can rebound, score, and protect the rim. The Rockets have now strayed away slightly from the microball Daryl Morey had in place for the Houston Rockets. At the moment, Christian Wood will be playing with Russell Westbrook and James Harden this season. However, that may change as Russell Westbrook and James Harden have both been in numerous trade talks as of late.
If the Rockets don’t trade those two, the new trio in Houston will be Westbrook, Harden, and Wood.
