Christian Pulisic linked with Juventus

Christian Pulisic is likely to be on the move this summer following a frustrating 2022-2023 season. According to ESPN, Juventus has now emerged as the front runners to sign the star American. It is being reported that Chelsea is prepared to sell him for a fee of £20 million.

Pulisic has had a difficult time since his £58 million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2019. Despite having a period of brilliance following the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020, Pulisic has since struggled.

Multiple injuries and managerial changes have hampered the American winger, and despite being handed the famous No. 10 jersey for Chelsea, Pulisic has not been able to stay healthy or in form.

Although there were reports that new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino wanted him to stay, it seems the club is still adamant that it is time for “Captain America” to move on.

With only 12 months remaining on his contract, he seems to be a perfect player for Chelsea to offload. The Blues are currently trying to reduce their £300 million wage bill, and Pulisic, who has a wage of £13 million, is likely one of the first Chelsea players on the chopping blocks.

Other clubs besides Juventus have shown interest. Manchester United, Newcastle, Napoli, AC Milan and Galatasary are other clubs linked with a move for Pulisic. Juventus has emerged as the frontrunner in recent days, however.

Juventus are currently in seventh place in the Serie A table heading into their final game. After being hit with a 10-point deduction that all but crushed their Champions League ambitions for next year, the Bianconeri are now attempting to restructure their attack.

Both Ángel Di Maria and Juan Cuadrado will be out of contract this summer. Juventus sees Pulisic as an affordable replacement.

Pulisic would also have the chance to link up with American Weston McKennie at Juventus if the move happens, although the former Leeds loanee is rumored to be leaving the Bioncaneri this summer.

After struggling for fitness and form in the Premier League, this could be a really good move for Pulisic. We have seen flashes of his brilliance at Chelsea but it has never been sustained.

Hopefully, Serie A is the perfect stage for Captain America to shine yet again.
