Florida actually has two wide receivers in this draft. The only thing about it is nobody is talking about either one. Chimere Dike is the first Gators wide out we’re going to talk about so let’s get right to it. Here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on Dike!
NFL Draft Stock Report: Gasparilla Bowl, Senior Bowl (3)
Dike, 22, was a four star prospect out of the state of Wisconsin. Coming out of high school, Dike was ranked as the 63rd overall receiver and number three player in the state. He spent four seasons close to home with the Badgers before finishing up his final campaign with the Gators.
The Wisconsin production is nothing to write home about. His best season with the Badgers is as a sophomore, compiling 47 receptions for 689 yards and six scores. Those numbers dipped to 328 yards the following year while playing 11 games. In fairness to Dike, it’s not like Wisconsin is this dangerous passing attack so what we got with Florida is probably the best representation of what he is.
Dike did have a knack for creating some explosive plays, averaging 18.6 yards per catch but finished the season with 783 yards and two scores. He wasn’t mentioned a ton in the stock notes. Mostly because while he was semi-productive, I never saw the WTF is that I gotta have him moments.
The Combine performance was actually sort of impressive. Has a real speed element running a 4.34. That includes some really nice leaping numbers. Not overly big checking in at 6-foot-1, 196, but overall has some verticality elements to his game.
The downside is that Dike has 17 drops compared to 11 touchdowns in his career. It’s just not good enough regardless of the QB play, and the QB play with Florida wasn’t terrible at all. I don’t see any crafty elements to his game. No nuance where he kills people short area. Doesn’t attack the football well enough in the air either.
I have an undrafted grade on Chimere Dike. Maybe someone drafts him late. Either way, he looks like a regular person playing football with plus speed. You’ve heard the term JAG before, right? Maybe he can be the faster version of what Jalen Coker gave Carolina last year, but that’s about all you’re looking at here.
