Chicago Bulls 2021 Season Preview

The Chicago Bulls have not made the playoffs since 2017. How do they stack up in the East this season?

Key Additions: Patrick Williams, Devon Dotson, Marko Simonovic, Garret Temple, Billy Donovan

Williams was the first round draft choice for the Bulls. Through the four preseason games, Williams looked like a really good fit. He has liked he could be a dark horse for rookie of the year.

Simonovic was the second round draft pick and Dotson was undrafted while Temple was signed as a free agent.

The biggest addition for the Bulls is bringing Billy Donovan in as their new head coach.

Key Losses: Kris Dunn, Shaquille Harrison

Losing the defense of Kris Dunn is going to hurt this team. He was never the first option when it came to offense, but he was good when needed.

Shaquille Harrison was a good 3 point shooter. But his production can be replaced.

Potential Starting Lineup: Coby White, Zach Lavine, Otto Porter Jr., Lauri Markkanen, Wendell Carter Jr.

The Bulls return almost the exact same line-up as they did last year. The only difference is Coby White enters the lineup full-time.

Last year White came off the bench as the 6th man and was the third leading scorer for this team. How good of a backcourt, can their backcourt be with White and Lavine?

“I actually think White and Lavine can compliment each other very nicely. Their games are a lot different, White is more of a playmaker while Lavine is a fantastic scorer.” – Dacota Haynes

Lauri Markkanen is true stretch four. While he’s decent on the inside, he is a knockdown shooter on the outside. The Bulls will be looking for more from him.

Season Outlook

How good will the Chicago Bulls be this season? Will Zach Lavine ask to be traded if the Bulls don’t make the playoffs? Or should he?

Projected record: 37 – 35
