The Chicago Bears just keep surpassing my expectations — and not in a good way. Most importantly, my home franchise has managed to do absolutely NOTHING to help the face of our franchise succeed. Justin Fields is a tremendous talent in a terrible situation and that’s eating at every Bears fan. Haven’t we suffered enough, though? Was Velus Jones Jr. and N’Keal Harry not enough pain for us? Clearly not, because the organization decided to release these hideous orange helmets as our alternates for the season.
Let’s start off with the fact that they’re such a rip-off of the Browns’ helmets. We’ve got the capital C and everything. Not to mention, the Browns just gave $230 million guaranteed to a man gwith 24 different sexual assault allegations. Our franchise is already a joke right now and we thought imitating one of the other biggest embarrassments in the league would help. Seriously, guys?
My biggest frustration with this helmet though is that there was so much potential, and we just threw it all away. The alternate helmets were supposed to be a really cool option to spice up the gameday outfits. We should be grateful that the NFL gave us the opportunity to add the new helmets into the rotation. The Bengals, for example, made sure not to waste this chance and absolutely killed the look.
Look, I just don’t want my franchise to be an embarrassment in every single aspect possible. Is that too much to ask for? With the Chicago Bears it honestly be. I’m not sure how I’m going to be able to get through the two games with these heinous helmets. Considering how ugly the team’s offense will probably be though, I guess I have more pressing problems to worry about when attempting to watch Bears games. #BearDown I guess though.
