The Dallas Cowboys and star wideout CeeDee Lamb have agreed to a four-year, $136 million deal with a $38 million signing bonus, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter first reported Monday.
The deal will make him the second-highest non-quarterback-paid player in NFL History–trailing Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson, who signed a four-year, $140 million extension earlier this offseason, and Raiders wideout Davante Adams.
According to NFL insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, Lamb will receive $100 million guaranteed with his lofty extension.
Lamb is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Last season, he led the league in receptions, hauling in 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Through four NFL seasons, he has yet to miss a game, posting 395 career catches for 5,145 yards and 32 touchdowns.
Without factoring in Lamb’s extension, the Cowboys have $28.5 million in cap space in 2024, $64 million in 2025 and $181.7 million in 2026. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott still remains unsigned while Micah Parsons will soon be due to a massive extension.
It will be interesting to see how owner Jerry Jones and Co. go about business there, especially with Prescott. It would behoove the Cowboys to get Parsons’ deal done first, as he is the lynchpin to their defense, which is one of the best in the NFL.
Prescott is a valuable quarterback, too, but can the Cowboys be talented enough to get them over the top with another massive extension rewarded to him? Jones typically drafts well, but that remains to be seen.
