Canucks Owner Francesco Aquilini Clearly Doesn’t Leadership Or He Would Have Fired Patrik Allvin / Jim Rutherford Already

Leadership. Most people will never understand what leadership truly means. While some teams can get away with not understanding it, poor leadership will automatically tank any organization. There is one problem with the Vancouver Canucks and it has everything to do with leadership. If their owner, Francesco Aquilini, had any understanding of that concept, he would have fired the clown show front office of Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford already.

By the way, the Canucks weren’t the only team in the NHL who suffered from poor leadership. If you think I’m crazy, which I am, but that’s not the point of this. All you have to do is look at the Rangers. New York was 12-6-1 to start the season. Then Chris Drury decides to tank his team with the worst move of leadership ever, and the Rangers go 27-32-6 the rest of the way with the same team that won the President’s Trophy the year before.

It matters. Leadership means everything and the only thing that’s clear is the Canucks don’t have it.

The evidence is undeniable.

A: The JT Miller thing was a joke, and the return on the trade was laughable. Any true leader squashes that situation, but the front office did nothing but poor gasoline on the fire.

B: The way the Brock Boeser thing was handled was also a joke. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, after the trade deadline, this is what the front office said.

“If I told you what I was offered for Brock Boeser, I think I would have to run out of here,” Allvin said Friday, “because you would not believe me.”

Which is as disrespectful as it gets for obvious reasons. A few days later, instead of trying to fix the situation, they removed the A from his sweater. A guy who has been incredibly loyal to the franchise now has no interest in re-signing with the team.

C:

I don’t think I need to explain why this ^ is idiotic. I’m going to assume you’re smart enough to get that one.

D: Rick Tocchet decided to leave, and it had nothing to do with money. I wonder why…

Frankly, I think it’s shameful that the Canucks haven’t fired Allvin and Rutherford. If Vancouver’s owner had any clue what real leadership was, he would have canned those two idiots by now, and it’s not really arguable.
