Bukayo Saka close to signing long-term deal with Arsenal

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is reportedly close to signing a new long-term deal with the London club. According to the Daily Mail, who first reported on his new contract, Saka will be paid roughly £10 million a year, or £200,000 a week, over double what he was paid previously.

The 21-year-old’s previous contract was up at the end of 2024, leading to speculation that other clubs might steal Saka away from Arsenal. This puts an end to that.

Arsenal have had their best season in over a decade, and Saka’s excellent form has been key to their success. He’s the leading goalscorer for the league leaders, with nine goals in 23 Premier League games. In total, he has scored 10 goals and provided eight assists in 31 games across all competitions.

Saka is Arsenal’s most dangerous attacker and has taken the leap this year after showing promise in previous seasons. He has nearly matched his goals and assists total from last year in 15 fewer games. He is unquestionably going to be both Arsenal and England’s starting right winger for the foreseeable future.

It’s a massive boost for both Arsenal and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. Saka evidently wants to be in Arsenal long-term and believes in Arteta’s long-term project.

Arsenal are currently the youngest team in the Premier League and will only improve from here. They are currently a midfielder, a left-winger (Martinelli might be better suited as a striker) and maybe a center-back from having a completely elite starting 11. Their star players, Saka and Odegaard are only 21 and 24 years old, respectively.

Arsenal will be a force for years to come, especially with other traditional big clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham being in flux.

Arsenal continue their pursuit of the Premier League title on Saturday against Leicester.
