Former Raiders Right tackle Menelik Watson will be joining a division rival the Denver Broncos on a 3-year deal. Denver area reporter Mike Klis of 9NEWS was the first on the story.
The details on the Watson deal include a total of $18.3 million over the life of the contract. Watson is a former 2nd round pick in 2013 out of Florida State. He has only recorded 17 starts since that time. Pro Football Focus ranked him as the 56th best tackle in 2016. Watson, 28, has always been known as a better run blocker.
Denver needed to add offensive line help desperately. They already added Ronald Leary to fill out one of the guard slots. Michael Schofield, Donald Stephenson, Ty Sambrailo, and Billy Turner are the incumbent options for the Broncos at tackle.
