Brian Robinson Jr.: Should You Buy His Fantasy Football Stock?

The 2022 NFL Draft is going to be remembered for what will turn out to be a very deep running back class. Maybe no pure superstars will come from this draft but there are a lot of capable backs. Brian Robinson Jr. from Alabama is the forgotten man but in reality, could have a major role in the Washington offense for years to come. Should you buy the Brian Robinson Jr fantasy football stock now?

Short term, long term, I think the answer is both yes price dependent, of course. Sometimes you just have to follow the breadcrumbs. This idea that Robinson can’t carve out a role in this Commanders offense is nonsense. Additionally, are we sure he’s not already better than Antonio Gibson?

The breadcrumbs are telling you Robinson has a real shot here to be fantasy relevant. Why wouldn’t it be the case? The former Alabama product is coming off an excellent year in college after waiting his turn. Guess what? Gibson would have waited his turn at Alabama and frankly barely got on the field at Memphis. No shots fired at Gibson but I would not be shocked if his workload is cut drastically with the addition of Robinson.

Apparently, Ron Rivera is not happy with Gibson’s fumbling issues and reports have already come out that Robinson may in fact already be the starter. Coaches take fumbling issues seriously and Gibson has been a liability in that department. What if he finds himself in the doghouse?

Gibson is also being put back on special teams… Does Derrick Henry play special teams? What about Dalvin Cook? Name whoever you want. How can we go about ranking Gibson as this all world fantasy option if the guy is on special teams? It’s red flags galore.

I’d think about moving Brian Robinson Jr up your fantasy rankings. If Robinson is the top scoring option out of the backfield in fantasy in Washington, nobody should be surprised.
