The Cleveland Browns and their fans just witnessed the worst thing that could’ve happened this season. Running back Nick Chubb suffered a brutal leg injury in the second quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers and was immediately ruled out after being carted off the field.
The injury was so bad that commentator Joe Buck announced that ABC wasn’t going to air the replay at all.
The #Browns have already ruled out RB Nick Chubb with a knee injury so gruesome that ABC chose not to show the replay. An awful scene for one of the NFL's best backs.

Chubb was carving up the Steelers defense before going down, rushing for 64 yards on 10 carries for an average of 6.4 yards per carry. Then, Chubb took the ball up the middle in the red zone. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick collided into his planted leg, immediately resulting in Chubb holding his left knee and wincing in pain.
Fitzpatrick went down for a while after the play ended as well, but ended up being just a little shaken up.
Nick Chubb dislocated his left knee and tore his MCL, PCL, and LCL with cartilage damage on October 10, 2015 vs. Tennessee. He injured the same knee tonight vs. Pittsburgh.

It’s a brutal loss for a Cleveland offense that is having trouble moving the ball through the air. Deshaun Watson hasn’t looked like the same quarterback we saw in Houston ever since joining the Browns and signing that huge guaranteed contract.
Watson is 4-3 as a starter for the Browns, completing just 57.8% of his throws for 1,256 yards, 8 TDs, and 6 INTs. On the other hand, Chubb has been otherworldly as the team’s workhorse.
Chubb has rushed for 5,345 yards and 40 TDs since 2019. Not to mention, he averaged 5.2 yards per carry over that time. Chubb is easily a top 3 back in the league, and losing him is a huge blow to the offense.
The Georgia product jumped from the 20th to the 4th leading rusher in the NFL (170 yards) on Monday night. He most likely would’ve taken the number 2 spot if he didn’t get injured.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, it’s highly likely that the injury will end his season. Let’s hope it’s not a career-altering injury for such an amazing player.
