Haason Reddick Signs With The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Haason Reddick has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a 1-year deal worth $14 million, this includes $12 million of the deal being guaranteed. Ian Rapoport was the first to report the deal on BlueSky:

Haason Reddick has moved on to a new team after having a lot of issues with the New York Jets. He sat out about half of the year. He asked for a trade in order to get a pay raise. He did end up playing for the Jets but he knew it was time to move on. He moves on to Tampa on a 1-year deal for $14 million with $12 million guaranteed. This looks to be a move to try to restore some of his reputation after sitting out for half the year. He still got $12 million guaranteed and will probably look to have a great year to move on to a bigger contract. That could be either with the Bucs or another team.

Before last season, Reddick had 4 seasons in a row where he had 11 sacks or more, including having 16 sacks in 2022. He is one of the premier LBs in the league. Although he is in his 30s now and Father Time is undefeated. This 1-year deal could prove that he has a lot of juice left and deserves a big contract and a long-term deal with the Bucs or another team. What probably got the deal done even though it was lower than what he probably should have deserved was the $12 million guaranteed. He is going to get his quick little paycheck and hope that he can earn more next year. We’ll see how he does with Tampa this year.
