Brandon Saad Inks Prorated One-Year Deal With Vegas

I genuinely don’t understand why you people don’t listen to me. You won’t find a sports media site that produces better information than us. I tried to warn you this was going to happen. Trey was on the money again #shocker. Brandon Saad is signing a one-year deal with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Kevin Weekes over at ESPN was the first to report the news:

Saad, 32, appeared in 43 games for the Blues this season registering just 16 total points. However, he’s likely going to be far more motivated while playing for a contender in Vegas. The Blues have been trying to get rid of Saad for months and he literally gave away money to join the VGK. Saad was under contract for next season too with St. Louis for $4.5 million. To give away that kind of money should tell you everything you need to know here.

The 14-year NHL vet will likely join the third line the also features a when healthy William Karlsson. Saad should still have something left in the tank. He did score 26 goals last year and has a track record of being a puck hound on the forecheck. It’s exactly what Vegas has been looking for as they have been sniffing around the winger market.

No offense to guys like Alexander Holtz, Raphael Lavoie, Brendan Brisson, etc but those guys have proven they’re still young and not ready for primetime yet. Saad is the perfect vet to help chase the Stanley Cup in the here and now.
