Brady vs Belichick: The Most Anticipated NFL Game of 2021

Unless you are a New England Patriots fan or a fan of sports dynasties, you might be sick of hearing about Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. The constant domination from these two in their respective positions is something that will never be replicated. Their sustained success in the form of both wins and championships makes them easily the best combination of quarterback and coach ever.

Brady versus Belichick, the greatest quarterback of all-time versus the greatest coach of all-time. The two titans of football are scheduled to clash in Week 4 when Brady makes his return to Foxborough, and this game will be the most extreme example of a player playing against their former team. Brady and Belichick dominated football for the past 20 years, running through the league year after year on their way to 6 Lombardi trophies with another 3 Super Bowl appearances. I expect New England fans to show nothing but respect for Brady and how could they not? The man kept his mouth shut, took shit from Belichick, and consistently took pay cuts for 20 years. Although the spotlight will be on Brady, Rob Gronkowski will also be making his return to Gillette Stadium. Gronkowski served two crucial roles for the Pats: comedian and touchdown scoring machine.

2020 was not a great year for Belichick and the Patriots. Considering his team just had their worst season in 15 years, nobody will be more focused on winning this season than Belichick. As if that were not enough, Brady, the quarterback Belichick thought was done, went to Tampa Bay and won a Super Bowl in his first season away from New England. Belichick and the Patriots had a very unconventional off-season, spending the most money in free agency and drafting quarterback Mac Jones, the first first-round quarterback ever drafted by the Pats in the Belichick era. The Patriots instantly felt the departure of Brady, as the team had the least dynamic offensive weapons in the NFL and struggled to move the ball down the field without him at the helm. The Patriots addressed their need for offensive weapons in the off-season, signing Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith, and Nelson Agholor. This game might not have many long-term ramifications, but at 8:20 P.M. on October 3, 2021, there is no other place I would rather be than inside Gillette Stadium.
