Brad Marchand Is Exactly Why Sidney Crosby Should Request A Trade

I’ve said it once, and I’m going to say it again. Sidney Crosby is a literal insane person for staying with the Penguins. He owes that team nothing, and the way he’s handled the dysfunction there is crazy. What Brad Marchand did with the Florida Panthers is just further proof.

I would argue that what Crosby is doing isn’t loyalty. I’d argue that what he’s doing is cowardly.

The entire world knows the Penguins are in sell mode. Bryan Rust and Erik Karlsson are on the way out. Evgeni Malkin will be pushed out this time next year. Pittsburgh is actually the only team in the league who is in true sell mode right now. Kyle Dubas is running the show, and the show is heading into the ground.

I want you to consider this.

The current ownership group didn’t draft Crosby.

His head coach, Mike Sullivan, is gone.

Going down with the Dubas ship won’t end well.

Who exactly is Crosby being loyal to? The ping pong ball that decided he would play in Pittsburgh? Sorry, not sorry, but that’s just insane to be loyal to a ping pong ball over doing what’s best for your career.

Would Sidney Crosby Consider Playing For The Golden Knights?

Marchand paved the path. He knew he deserved better than the Bruins were treating him. He had no reason to take another hometown deal because they had no chance to win the Cup. Marchand went to a spot where he had a real chance to win and locked himself into a guaranteed Hall of Fame selection.

Crosby has a chance to do the same. Right now, he’s being a coward and wasting time. There’s really no other way to look at it. Go try to win another cup or retire knowing he left multiple years on the table because of poor management.

I know what I would do, and if Crosby were actually a real competitor… he would do what Marchand just did.
