Boston College QB Thomas Castellanos To Enter Transfer Portal

Thomas Castellanos is a name that should receive some attention from schools in the transfer portal. He had one year of no real playing time at UCF before he broke out on the scene last year for Boston College. Castellanos is a dual-threat quarterback who has played well in a lot of big games. However, this year did not go as planned for Castellanos and he was eventually benched toward the end of the season. Now, he is looking for a new opportunity and will try his hand in the transfer portal.

Thomas Castellanos ended his Boston College career with 3,614 passing yards, 1,307 rushing yards, and 47 total touchdowns. Unfortunately, his 2023 season accounted for over 2,000 of those passing yards, over 1,000 of those rushing yards, and 28 of the touchdowns. Nevertheless, after a down year, he is still only a junior and has multiple years of eligibility left. The Eagles were 5-4 in games Castellanos played in and that includes a six-point loss to No. 6 ranked Missouri and a four-point loss to a tough Louisville team.

QB Thomas Castellanos Transfer Portal Outlook

I believe he will receive interest from multiple Power Four schools. Florida State is a school that is in major need of a switch at quarterback. Although, they will probably look at a lot of transfer quarterbacks. Castellanos can command an offense through the passing game. However, I’d look for a school that lets the quarterback be more mobile. I think his dual-threat ability could be used more at schools like Vanderbilt or Stanford. Ultimately, Thomas Castellanos had two important years at Boston College but now it’s time to see if he can use the transfer portal to take the next step in his career.
