This is really how I know that I am broke. I can’t afford a $5,000 emergency without having a panic attack and mental breakdown. Bill Belichick can spend it on milk. Granted, Bill Belichick is the greatest coach of all time and gets paid like it, but still $5,000 milk? I mean, it was considered an emergency but there’s no way I could spend that much on milk. Why did he do it though?
Bill Belichick revealed on a podcast called “The Pivot“, the reason why he spent that much on milk. It was to help Antonio Brown maintain a relationship with Tom Brady and to make sure their relationship did not spoil, pun intended. Tom Brady, being the overrated prima donna that he is, used to like milk that was $5,000 milk, which is insane in itself obviously. Antonio Brown wanted to be nice and ordered it for Brady, what happened next, Bill Belichick noted on the podcast, quote provided by MassLive:
“To make a long story short, it kinda got mixed up and it ended up in the mail room for too long,” Belichick said. “The milk went bad.”
To avoid the relationship to go spoiled (2/2 on the spoiled reference or maybe it’s actually a loss because I used it twice too close together, I really need to work on material), Bill Belichick replaced the $5,000 talent to avoid any tension.
“Sometimes you just gotta do the right thing,” Belichick said. “And I didn’t wanna ruin the relationship between Brown and Brady on this spoiled milk. So, we spent $5,000 to replace his milk.”
It didn’t last long and the relationship with at least Antonio Brown and Patriots did spoil (Okay, I overused it on purpose this time), because Brown was only with the Patriots for 11 days.
Alright, let’s be for real now, I would like to think that if I ever had enough money that I was capable of spending $5,000 on milk, I just…wouldn’t. I wouldn’t even know what type of benefit $5,000 milk would be, but that could the broke in me talking. I don’t know, to each their own, I guess.
