Ben Tate Released by the Cleveland Browns

Ben Tate is in the midst of a two-year, $7 million deal he signed this season. Tate’s role has been limited all season with the emergence of rookies Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell. Both rookie backs come from small schools. West is from Towson and Crowell attended Alabama State. Both rookie backs could have a big impact from a fantasy standpoint moving forward. As for Tate, the Texans could be a team interested in his services. The Texans drafted Tate in the second round in 2010. Houston is also a team in need of a running back as Arian Foster is battling injury and Alfred Blue is just a rookie 6th round pick. Currently, on the season Tate has 106 carries, 333 yards, and 3 touchdowns on the season. At the age of 26 the big bruising back shouldn’t have trouble finding work eventually. The Browns currently sit a 6-4 and will be helped from the return of suspended star Josh Gordon.
