The Philadelphia 76ers got molly whopped by the Miami Heat tonight. Talk about an ass beating. Philly got torched 137-106 and there is no way to sugar coat a loss like that. It was a historically bad loss. Philadelphia posted a defensive rating of 148.9 which goes down as the 5th worst performance by any team in the last 20 years.
Ben Simmons came right out and said it. The 76ers are soft:
Let’s start with the obvious. Nobody is a bigger pus than Al Horford. He should legally change his name to Mr. Charmin Ultra Soft. There is no other way to describe him. People thought I was crazy when I hated him when he was with the Celtics. Now 76ers fans are learning the truth. 22 minutes, 2-5, 6 points, 4 rebounds, and a $27.25 million check per year. The good news is Miami won by 31 points and Jimmy Butler outscored Horford by 32. Horford never made any sense for this team. I knew that this would be a disaster from the jump. Most of this is on him. The guy stinks.
Hey, maybe Brian Scalabrine was right too. Maybe Philly has an effort issue. Maybe they don’t like each other. Maybe Elton Brand built the dumbest roster of all-time. Either way, it’s not a secret. This 76ers team just isn’t good. They don’t just suck. The 76ers are soft too. Does anybody actually consider Philadelphia a threat to win the East? Do they have anything positive going for them outside of Matisse Thybulle? Philadelphia is a mess. Something has to change before the deadline. Brett Brown’s seat has to feel very hot and the pressure is on.
