Tight Ends are hard to find in fantasy. We may have found a good sleeper candidate for the 2020 season. The Steelers signed Eric Ebron this offseason to a two-year deal worth $12 million and has totally fell under the radar. Ben Roethlisberger essentially confirmed that he is a huge fan of Eric Ebron and was pushing for the Steelers to sign him. It could spark into a fruitful fantasy season for the former Lions and Colts tight end.

“I was a big fan of his coming out [of college],” Roethlisberger said, via Ed Bouchette of TheAthletic.com. “I was really impressed with him, thought he was a great football player. Ebron said to me, ‘When I was with [former Steelers receiver] Lance Moore in Detroit, he told me how much you wanted me when I was coming out or a free agent. I just wanted to thank you.’ Now that he’s here, I’m excited to see what he can bring to this team. We know he’s an incredible talent. Speaking to him, I can see his desire, and his passion to be great. I’m excited what he can bring to the table opposite Vance [McDonald].”

Ebron, 26, has had an up and down career since being drafted by Detroit in the first round out of North Carolina in 2014. The former North Carolina product has all the tools to be a great player but hasn’t always performed like one. 2018 was by far his best season playing alongside Andrew Luck which resulted in a 13 touchdown campaign. The 6-foot-4 tight end has just 14 touchdowns in his other 5 seasons combined.

It will be curious to see how often Ben Roethlisberger feeds Eric Ebron the ball. Something Pittsburgh doesn’t have is a reliable red zone target. The big bodied Ebron can bring that element to the table.
