Become Law Enforcement in the Next GTA Online Update

Grand Theft Auto is a video game franchise created by Rockstar Games Inc. that allows gamers to commit crimes, make money, and run from the cops. It is an action-adventure game with a huge open-world setting that changes from game to game. Whether gamers are playing the complex and exciting story mode or just having fun in GTA Online there is one clear enemy, which is the police. However, this next GTA online update appears to be drastically changing this concept.

Players will now be able to become law enforcement in the next GTA Online update, according to Rockstar Games.

“In just a few short weeks, a new update is coming to GTA Online on all platforms that will expand upon the Criminal Careers of Executive, Biker, Gunrunner, and Nightclub Owner — alongside a set of Contact Missions that presents the opportunity to be sworn in as a special IAA field operative to investigate a budding criminal conspiracy.”

(Quote From Rockstar Games Inc.)

In GTA there is a wanted system where the more crimes or aggressive acts a player commits, the more they are wanted. The wanted level scale goes from one star to five stars. One star involves a few cops chasing the player, but a five-star wanted level means cars, SUVs, and helicopters will be shooting at the player and there is essentially no escape. This is why the police are seen as the enemy in GTA because they will often be after the player anytime they try to have real fun.

After years of evading the police as well as pretending to be them on some missions, gamers can officially be on law enforcement’s side. Gamers can be a special IAA field operative, which would be like working for the CIA, and they can try to stop the constant criminal activities happening in Los Santos.

This will be a fun and interesting switch-up that can create new exciting situations as gamers will now be in charge of keeping the streets of Los Santos clean.

What GTA should do for their next update

In my opinion, one of the best aspects of GTA is the different game modes that users can play on GTA Online. There are specific modes called adversary modes that are always enjoyable to play with a group of friends. However, GTA Online on the next generation console severely cut the number of adversary modes and they cut a lot of the amazing ones.

Rockstar Games kept some good ones like Hasta La Vista, Sumo Remix, and Hunting Pack Remix but this is not enough as gamers want the other games back. There were extremely fun car-based games such as Offense vs Defense, Running Back, The Vespucci Job, and Turf Wars that friends could play for hours at a time.

Also, there were land-based adversary modes such as Inch by Inch, Land Grab, and Slasher that were great entertainment. There has been a large outcry from the GTA community to bring these game modes back to GTA online so hopefully, fans will be able to play these within the next couple of updates.
