Former Cardinals right tackle Bobby Massie has inked a new deal with the Chicago Bears. ESPN Bears reporter Jeff Dickerson was the first to report the news.
The Bears deal with Bobby Massie is for 3 years worth $18 million, $6 per year. The Denver Broncos were the other known suitor. Massie graded out 45th amongst tackles according to Pro Football Focus in 2015. Massie figures to be a big upgrade in the run game that allows the team to move Kyle Long to right guard. The Bears had ample cap space to stay busy this offseason.
The move creates a dynamic feature considering the team just lost Matt Forte to the New York Jets. The move to keep Jacquizz Rodgers maintained some stability in that department.
For Arizona second year pro D.J. Humphries figures to take Massie’s spot in the line. Jared Veldheer mans the left side.
Defensively the team was able to sign away Danny Trevathan. Chicago also re-signed Tracy Porter to a 3 year deal.
