Barstool is expanding more into the gaming world, and they just hired MRagsTV. Barstool Gaming announced on Twitter they signed the Twitch streamer to come aboard and expand that area of the company.
When this news became public I was writing a post about how to potentially get hired at Barstool and any media company. MRags comes aboard to a company that has a loyal following, and he has a presence of his own with his streams.
This is a great move by both sides, for Barstool they get someone who is knowledgeable about the world, and has proven he can create quality content on his own already. He has already worked with Smitty and Barstool Gametime before, casting tournaments and being a part of official broadcasts and content. That was all before he was hired full-time and can now focus exclusively on expanding the Barstool brand.
For MRags, he gets the immediate exposure of the entire Barstool brand, not only the gaming aspect of the company but the main channels too. He is going to a permanent co-host of all of their video game content with Smitty who started this type of content at Barstool. He reacted to the news live on his Twitch stream, it was then clipped and posted to the main Barstool Twitter account with over two and a half million followers.
This could be the first hire of many if Barstool really wants to increase their presence on Twitch. When Big Cat did his NCAA football series, he was the highest viewed streamer on the platform when he was live. They signed a partnership with NickMercs, another megastar in gaming, but he is partnered more with the sportsbook side as opposed to day-to-day content.
