Banning Russia From The 2026 Winter Olympics Is Shameful And Hypocritical

I understand that we live in a world where everyone wants to take the path of least resistance. It won’t be long until Chickster has to teach a kid who school who gets his own personal litter box and everyone just accepts it. What we’re doing here with Russia and the 2026 Winter Olympics falls into that same category.

It’s not disputable. Banning Russia from the games is shameful and hypocritical.

I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but the world has a long history of having countries who are actively at war compete at the Games. Had this woke mentality been around years prior, we would have been robbed of some of the great moments in athletic history.

*In no particular order*.

1. 2010 Winter Olympics (Vancouver):
Sidney Crosby’s Golden Goal vs. USA

  • If Canada were banned for participating in NATO missions in Afghanistan, we never get the most iconic goal in modern Olympic hockey history — and we’re robbed of Crosby vs. Ovechkin on the world stage.

2. 2004 Summer Olympics (Athens):
USA Basketball “Redeem Team” Fallout Begins

  • The U.S. military was actively involved in Iraq and Afghanistan, but the U.S. still competed. Would we ban them and lose the storyline that led to the 2008 Redeem Team?

3. 1980 Winter Olympics (Lake Placid):
“Miracle on Ice” — USA defeats USSR

  • The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan had just begun. No ban. No miracle. No greatest upset in sports history.

4. 1972 Summer Olympics (Munich):
Mark Spitz wins 7 gold medals for the U.S.

  • The U.S. was still deep in the Vietnam War. If that meant banning athletes, we lose one of the most dominant swimming performances of all time.

5. 1936 Summer Olympics (Berlin):
Jesse Owens stuns Hitler’s Germany

  • The U.S. still showed up despite the rising Nazi regime. Owens embarrassed the ideology of Aryan supremacy in front of the world — arguably the most important Olympic statement ever.

Mind-blowing that we would allow one human’s decision to impact the lives of several high-level athletes. One last battle between Crosby and Ovechkin? Nope. Fake politics wins out. Not sure who needs to hear this, but maybe someone should ban the USA from the Olympics because they’ve gone into several wars and were still able to compete. Why is Russia held to a different standard?

Politics, lies, corruption. The fact that I’m the only one speaking up about this says everything you need to know…
