Awful Announcing
Let’s have an honest conversation about Awful Announcing. They’re very much part of the wave of awful that they’re tasked with covering. (Awful Announcing Logo)

Awful Announcing Is Part of the Awful They’re Criticizing

They’re not journalists. They’re snarky paparazzi in sweatpants. Let’s have a real conversation about Awful Announcing. They’re just as awful as the idiots they’re tasked with criticizing. I have no idea how the people over at Awful Announcing sleep at night, but they’re some of the most embarrassing people in the sports media industry.

Here’s a stat to kick things off?

41.

The month of May is far from over, and that’s how many articles they’ve written about Bill Belichick’s girlfriend… just this month.

They are the epitome of the group of people I wrote about a couple of weeks ago. Clowns who know nothing about football, culture, or leadership. These people throw stones because they know when they’re in their 70s, they won’t have a girlfriend who looks like that. All jealousy. Sad, embarrassing, pathetic, and it’s really not arguable.

It’s one thing to cover the story. When you’re doing it at that rate, it’s hardcore creepy.

By the way, if you’re someone who is actually questioning if the guy who trained Nick Saban is actually going to win games in the watered-down ACC… maybe check yourself into seeking help.

They hate Belichick for one reason (beyond the obvious one that they’re just jealous they don’t have a girlfriend who is nearly as fun to look at):

He wins. He doesn’t need them. And neither do you.

This goes beyond Belichick. It’s a bad website. Sorry, just is.

The concept works. The execution isn’t there.

They built a brand by acting like media watchdogs, but…

  • They never hold real power accountable — only soft targets and surface-level fluff.
  • They boost the worst voices by quote-tweeting ESPN/Fox absurdities — all it does is give more oxygen to the same nonsense they claim to hate.
  • Their tone is often smug without any actual solutions, which puts them in the same “clown show without teeth” bucket they claim to mock.

It’s outrage-farming for validation.

This part can’t be argued. They’re too chicken to attack real gatekeepers like agents, ownership groups, or execs that actually corrupt sports media. Everything they do is feeding you the same BS about what Stephen A Smith or Skip Bayless is doing. The same people they’re tasked with criticizing are also put on a pedestal, like they have all the answers. It’s actually a joke, and I’m lowkey embarrassed for them.

Being a critic is the brand. Except it comes with zero original scouting, sourcing, or strategy. The entire strategy is farming for breadcrumb clicks that stems from Twitter drama.

These are not real bloggers. They’re glorified gossip bloggers who wish they had his life and it’s so damn obvious.
