Ashton Jeanty is likely to be one of the first running backs off the board during the 2025 NFL Draft. Jeanty is in the midst of a Heisman caliber season with Boise and plenty of NFL teams will be interested when the draft rolls around.
Any team that takes Jeanty will be getting a stud on their hands. The Boise product leads FBS with 256 carries, 1,893 rushing yards, and 27 total touchdowns. His draft stock has gone through the roof and he’s been documented during the Stock Report series.
It turns out that Jeanty already has a landing spot in mind. Jeanty made it clear in a recent interview that his dream scenario would be to play for the Cowboys. Don’t click the link below, it’s from the trash bag publication that is The Athletic.
VIA The Athletic’s Jon Machota:
“My family is all in Texas. Family being there, all the connections, all the relationships, I feel like that would just be the perfect city to play in,” Jeanty said.
The Cowboys sure make a lot of sense here. Ezekiel Elliott is totally washed up. Ditto for Dalvin Cook as that experiment has failed. Rico Dowdle just stinks period. Deuce Vaughn will never be more than a wanna be Darren Sproles. There is no question that Dallas needs a running back. It’s hard to argue against bringing Jeanty back home to Texas.
It’s a matter of what the actual draft day cost will be. Has Jeanty really played himself into the first round? That’s the real question.
