Are video game TV shows and movies destined to fail? In this video, I break down the reasons why directors have such a difficult time making video game TV shows and movies and analyze what they could do in the future to prevent these flops at the box office. Is it possible to make a good video game movie or show? Stick around and find out!
I break down the analysis into three parts: How does the story fit into whether these shows or movies are successful, how changing the characters can alter the popularity with the fans, and how directors fail to emulate the atmosphere from the games.
Throughout the video, I use examples that range from both live-action movies and animated shows to provide evidence to show the audience that there is way more that could be done to fix the direction of these types of media. Using examples from the likes of the Halo TV Show, the Super Mario Movie and the Uncharted film I can count the several reasons why these movies and shows have failed in the long run.
By the end, I will be able to provide evidence to show that not only did these directors fail but show that there are many examples of how they could have done things in the right direction. Is it possible for gaming shows and movies to do well? Watch the video and drop a comment below to let me know what you think! Thanks for watching!
